Coeur d'Alene and Northern Idaho
These are the faces of two people relieved to be out of the ER, out of hotel rooms on work travel, and back to life on the road together. We took full advantage of our route from Jackson to Seattle and stopped in Missoula Montana and Coeur d'Alene Idaho for overnight stays. We spent as much time as we could in Coeur d'Alene because we happened to hit it on a quiet weekend with the fall colors at peak display. We loved this little town, and indulged in some delicious food, a nice hike through the gorgeous foliage, and a visit to the local brewery.
I have come to really love these travel weekends when we make the effort to see a town along the way, even if it is for only 12 hours. This peak at a new place definitely feeds my passion for seeing new places and makes me dream of the next time that we might come back to explore some more.
It felt like as we left Jackson and headed west that we were chasing the fall colors. The trees were putting on a perfect show as the mountain peaks glistened with the first snow fall. It was a magical drive that I will have to somehow try to capture in my paintings in the future.
